Common HCBS-AMH Services
The Texas Home and Community Based Services — Adult Mental Health program (HCBS-AMH) was designed to help individuals living with serious mental illness ease their transition back into the community while living more independent and fulfilling lives. The program offers clients with a wide range of supportive services that they get to choose from.
Supervised Living
Having a stable place to live during the path to recovery is critical for HCBS-AMH participants. Amber Lantern’s supervised living services have been designed to create safe, comfortable, friendly and fun spaces for residents to call home during their time with us. Direct Support Staff are on site 24/7 to provide supervision, assist with activities of daily living, and make sure that clients are staying on schedule with their other HCBS-AMH service appointments.
Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR)
Psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR) is a process designed to support individuals with mental health challenges in achieving their personal goals and improving their quality of life. It focuses on enhancing social functioning and reintegrating individuals into their communities through a combination of therapeutic interventions, skill-building, and support systems. PSR emphasizes the development of coping strategies, social skills, and self-management techniques that empower individuals to manage their condition effectively. By fostering a collaborative environment that includes mental health professionals, family members, and community resources, PSR aims to promote recovery and facilitate meaningful participation in daily life activities.
Community Psychiatric Supports & Treatment (CPST)
Community psychiatric supports and treatment (CPST) employs evidence-based therapy techniques to assist individuals who are experiencing symptoms of their behavioral health conditions. This approach not only focuses on addressing immediate symptoms but also emphasizes developing effective strategies that can help individuals cope with ongoing challenges associated with their mental health. By providing tailored support, CPST aims to enhance overall well-being and improve the quality of life for those involved.
Registered Nursing Services (RN)
Weekly visits from a Registered Nurse are another essential cornerstone of the Home and Community-Based Services for Adults with Mental Health (HCBS-AMH) program. Many participants enter the program with various comorbidities or may encounter challenges in effectively managing and looking after their overall health. These nursing visits play a vital role in helping to keep clients healthy, ensuring the consistent use of prescribed medications, and fostering improved communication between a client’s healthcare providers and the provider agency.
